Why so serious?

Don't be so serious

I think it’s safe to say, a lot of us eat, sleep and dream training.

Your days are spent researching training splits, how many reps? How many sets? How often should I train? What should I eat? When should I eat?

Your nights are spent wondering if you could have done one more rep, ran that little further, hit that little harder. Before you know it your social life is non-existent, family and friends become distant and you are not performing in work.

Training becomes more of burden than something that should be enjoyed, you should be looking forward to your training whatever it may be.

If you find yourself feeling like this or even feel your self-going down this path then listen in!

Allow yourself to switch off and relax I am all for doing your own research and educating yourself and when you are training push yourself every single day, go hard or go home but there comes a point when you need to switch off and enjoy other aspects in your life.

I believe by doing this your motivation and determination for training will increase and you will find yourself hitting new PB’s and being genuinely happier.

Enjoy that family meal you keep missing because it won’t fit your macros, not seen your friends in a while? Go have that drink they keep asking you to come for, take a day off and go do something with your family, obviously using what I am saying as an excuse to slack off all the time will not get you any closer to your goals you want to achieve, but from time to time it’s okay to give yourself a little slack.

I firmly believe doing this will reflect in the quality of your training.
